PGA Championship

The 2025 PGA Championship, the 107th edition, is scheduled for May 12-18 at Quail Hollow Club in Charlotte, North Carolina. This marks the second time Quail Hollow hosts the event, the first being in 2017 when Justin Thomas won. The course, designed by George Cobb in 1961, is known for its challenging layout, fast greens, and demanding fairways, making it a stern test for the all-professional field. It’s the second major of the season, following the Masters, and is part of the PGA Tour, European Tour, and Japan Golf Tour schedules.

Rory McIlroy is a notable figure, having won the PGA Championship twice previously and recently completing a career Grand Slam with a Masters victory in April 2025. The event offers a purse of around $11 million (based on 2018 figures), with the winner receiving the Wanamaker Trophy and exemptions into other majors for five years, plus lifetime PGA Championship eligibility.
