The 78th Cannes Film Festival is scheduled to take place from May 13 to 24, 2025, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France. French actress Juliette Binoche will preside over the main competition jury, while Laurent Lafitte will host the opening and closing ceremonies. The festival will open with the French comedy Bye Bye by Amélie Bonnin.
The Honorary Palme d'Or will be awarded to Robert De Niro during the opening ceremony.

In addition to the main competition, the Un Certain Regard section will feature directorial debuts from Scarlett Johansson (Eleanor the Great) and Harris Dickinson (Urchin). The Out of Competition category includes Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning starring Tom Cruise and Stories of Surrender directed by Andrew Dominik.
The Critics' Week section, dedicated to first and second films, will be chaired by Spanish filmmaker Rodrigo Sorogoyen. The Queer Palm jury will be led by French filmmaker Christophe Honoré.
